LAST ROAD ON EARTH E-69
What is E-69?
E69 is an E-road on the European route between Olderfjord and North Cape in northern Norway. One of the dream spots for many adventure travelers. This road is 129km long. It has five tunnels, a total distance of tunnels is 15.5 km. The North Cape Tunnel is the longest 6.9 km long and reaches 212m below sea level. E69 is the earth's northernmost road that connects to a major international road network. In the winter months, the north part of the road (Skarsvåg - North Cape) is used only for convoys, driving at fixed times, if weather permits.
A lot of questions come into our minds from childhood. Is there any end to the sky? Where on this earth does the road end? There is no road from any Location! Europe’s ‘E-69 Highway’ is the last road on earth.
Why is nobody permitted to go alone on this E 69 road?
Because of its unique geographical location of existence, the last road on earth is subject to high wind and extreme cold. The weather is unpredictable here. You have snow even in summer. It passes near the coastline, due to which weather becomes more surprising as it can change suddenly in a very drastic way.
Driving on this road is not advised when it is heavy snow and rain, as storms are pretty common here. As weather conditions are unusual here, travelers are not allowed to drive alone on E 69 highway.
Coming here is like a "Dream come true"
